United Van Lines’ 39th Annual National Movers Study Reveals Where People Move and Why
Each year, United Van Lines releases its National Movers Study which tracks the states our customers move to and from during the course of the year. Oregon was deemed as the top moving destination for the third year in a row and the Northeast lost residents for the fourth consecutive year. Through outreach to media across the country, UniGroup has secured more than 390 pieces of unique coverage on the story and it has been seen more than 390 million times. Moving industry leaders share common history of growth, innovation and 220 years of combined experience
The Suddath Companies (Jacksonville, Flordia) announced that is has acquired The Secor Group, one of the nation’s oldest logistics, moving and storage companies in Washington, DC.
Both Suddath® and Secor share many inherent characteristics including long histories of growth and success and were major contributors to the development and standardization of the modern-day moving industry. Like Suddath, Secor joined UniGroup in the 1980s.

This was the largest acquisition to date for The Suddath Companies.
Each year, for the last 17 years, van operators from Chipman Relocation & Logistics (Concord, California) donate money to organizations collecting toys for children in need. Those donations have been matched by Tom Chipman. This year, van operators donated $2,272 and Tom donated $4,540 bringing the total to about $7,400. Over the past 17 years, it is believed that Chipman and its van operators have donated more than $100,000 in toys to organizations such as Solano Heroes, Bluestar Moms, Children Nurturing Project and Toys for Tots.
