17 finalists for the Golden 1 Center public art program announced

The Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission (SMAC) has approved 17 finalists for the Golden 1 Center Public Art Program funded by a $1.5 million private donation – the largest commitment to regional artists in the history of the City’s Art in Public Places program. These finalists will be invited to submit design proposals for one of four sites at the arena. Nine out of the seventeen finalists chosen for the four sites live in a Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) county.

Four finalists will be invited to submit design proposals for the LED screens at the entrance to the Golden 1 Center:

• Jiayi Young
• Jess Riegel
• Nelson Loskamp

Thirteen finalists will be invited to submit design proposals for one of the following sites: L Street, 5th – 7th Streets, and Escalator Wells:
