I shoot about 25-30 homes a month and nothing is more challenging than the “Brownies”, those big all-brown interior custom homes with high ceilings and very little color. Add to that extremely bright sunny skies and the difference between interior luminance and outdoor brightness is night and day. Like 10-stops.
To get it right requires a long shooting process involving a dozen exposures with a number of lights and a equal amount of layers and masking in photoshop. We interior photographers prefer white everything and decor and art with lots of primary colors, which is the opposite of what I shot today! Got to admit I was sweating this one a bit.. I think it came out very well. Nailed it!
