Sac State to Construct New Dorms – With a View

Sacramento State will break ground this summer on a new residence hall.  The Board Of Trustees approved the nearly $55 million project on Tuesday.

The new dorms come with an amazing view of the American River.

“Most of the social spaces, lounges, study rooms, they’ll all be situated on corners overlooking the American River,” explained University Executive Director of Housing Michael Speros.

The new residence hall will be home to just over 400 students when it opens in the Fall of 2017. The move comes at a time where most Cal State campus’ have tightened their admissions criteria to reduce the number of students.  Sacramento State, on the other hand, is increasing enrollment slightly for at least the next 5 years.
