Don’t forget to make measurements when you’re doing some long distance moving

Knowing the dimensions of your new home is very important, especially when you’ve hired a moving and relocation company. If certain items don’t fit into the places that you’ve chosen for them, you’ll have had a company help you move them for no reason. It also makes it very difficult to save money by avoiding appliance purchases.

One troublesome area to take into account is the kitchen. No matter how big your new one is, you might find that it’s hard to fit certain appliances into the spaces that were created for them. Refrigerators are particularly hard to shimmy into spots that weren’t built around them, so if you have a beloved model you want to take with you, find out what its dimensions are before nationwide movers put it on their truck.

You should also figure out how big stairwells are. They might look big enough to accommodate bed frames or cabinets, but there are fewer worse feelings than having to abandon a piece of furniture and buy a new one because the angles in a staircase won’t allow it to fit.
