San Diego, CA, January 31,2014—Ace Relocation Systems’ corporate office in San Diego held a bake sale to raise money for those affected by Typhoon Haiyan. 14 employees brought hundreds of cupcakes, cookies, fudge, and much more to contribute, and each treat was sold for $1. Throughout the day, dozens of employees stopped by the bake sale table to purchase the baked goods, and most donated much more than the $1 cost. By the end of the day, Ace had raised $268!
The money collected was sent to the organization “Direct Relief”, whose “medical assistance programs equip health professionals working in resource-poor communities to better meet the challenges of diagnosing, treating, and caring for people without regard to politics, religion, gender, race, or ability to pay.” Direct Relief has been rated by Forbes as having “100% fundraising efficiency”.
Kate McCoy, Marketing Specialist for Ace Relocation, said “We are so proud of the money we were able to raise for such a great cause, and very appreciative to our Ace family for the huge turnout.”
